After the establishment of formal diplomatic relations with China, Professors Zhao Feng Xiang, Zhao Li Ming, Hou Xue Chao, Ning Jia Yu, Tong Qing Bing, Liu Shi Qin, Wang Fu Ren, Woo Guo Ping, 린Lin Yin Sheng, Wang Yao Ming, Huang Shu Shung, Gao Yuan Bao, Cui Su Hua, O Zhao Lu, Liu Ning, Sun Xi Xin, Li Chun Qing, Ping Yue Ling, Cen Yuan Quiang, Zhang Ye Song, Guo Chang Bao, Yin Ji Ming, Zhang Hai Ming, Shen Qing Li, Liu Miao, Tang Jin Hai, Yao Da Yong, Han Lei, Zuo Si Min, and Cheng Hua Ping, all from mainland China, have served for over a year as visiting professors in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature. Chinese linguistics, classical Chinese literature, and modern Chinese literature, which are the three largest general academic fields in Chinese language and literature, are equally important within the curriculum.
